Moscow Coffee and Tea Expo: new international exhibition for tea and coffee industry professionals will open in October

For several years «Coffee and Tea» forum has been successfully taking place as part of «PIR» exhibition, it became traditional tryst for all those interested in industry development. This year «PIR Group» laid foundation for a new huge project, which is completely dedicated to coffee and tea industry – international exhibition Moscow Coffee and Tea Expo.

The exhibition will take place during 01–04 of October at International Exhibition Center «Crocus Expo» (Moscow City). It will be distinguished by not only larger area in comparison with forum (5,000 m2) and ambitious exposition (more than 100 corporate participants), but also by expanded program – more than 100 training events. It will gather 7,000 professionals from Russia, CIS countries and Europe in one place: international experts; baristas; judges of Russian and regional coffee championships; owners and managers of coffee houses, cafes, bars, restaurants, tea clubs, hotels, night clubs; leaders among producers and manufacturers of equipment.

In the course of the exhibition there will work several thematic platforms with products, services and useful training events. Special program is prepared not only for «practicians» (baristas, barmen, roasters), but also for businessmen – owners of cafes, restaurants, bars and coffee shops, managers and judges of championships.

Epicenter of business program and source of bright ideas will become Main Business Stage platform, where space of «Ideal coffee shop» will be created. Speakers will be masters invited by Nuova Simonelli (one of the best producers of coffee machines with almost century-old history) and «Delovaya Rus» (highest quality equipment for catering facilities) companies – Gwilym Davies, Colin Harmon and Fritz Storm. At the Main Business Stage platform final round of Coffeeducation League will be held, the grand prize of which will be a trip to Barista Camp in Japan, conducted under the expert guidance of Fritz Storm and Kentaro Maruyama.

At The Coffee Box platform, organized together with La Marzocco and Traveler’s Coffee companies, there will be given seminars of top-ranked specialists in coffee industry: Dan Streetman, buyer of Irving Farm Coffee Roasters coffee beans and chief referee of American Barista Championship, Sonja Bjork Grant, barista and coach of international renown, chief referee of World Barista Championship, and Ettore Scagliola, technician of La Marzocco. La Marzocco, partner of The Coffee Box platform, gained reputation and world renown, creating high quality espresso machine with unique design. Another partner of the platform – Traveler’s Coffee – is a chain of increasingly popular coffee houses (in total more than 70 coffee houses), whose collection embraces beans products from all round the world.

At Tea Garden platform there will be given business seminars, dedicated to tea only – guests will know how to open their own tea room, how to buy qualitative tea at reasonable price, how to increase profit and many other things. New trend in tea industry, herbal tea, will be presented at the range of thematic master classes, which will be given by Dmitriy Zhukov (founder of «Zhivoy Travianoy» trademark), Iuriy Popov (General Director of «Kofeshenk» LLC) and Aleksandr Grachev (founder of «House of Ivan-chay» and General Director of «Rosa Ivan-chay» company). At Tea Garden, there will be presented special program of experts from tea native land – China and India. Dr. Sakkiir Hussein from India will tell what way goes tea «from leaf to cup», and Grigoriy Potemkin, who has been living in the Celestial Empire for already five years, will share secrets of managing successful Internet shop on sale of China tea and organization tea tours.

We’ll also present Samovar bar, the name of which speaks for itself. Viktor Enin (owner of «Chainaya Vysota. House of tea and ice-cream» club) will share his achievements in terms of creating thematic tea bar and he will also conduct tea tasting.

In interactive zone Brew Bar visitors will taste coffee, brewed in alternative ways – from chemex to superautomat, from classic espresso and cappuccino to coffee-based cocktails of all sorts.  Moreover, guests will have opportunity to taste national teas reflecting peculiarities of national hospitality in each cup of not tea only, but also tea-based drinks which can catch the imagination. At Espresso Bar visitors will have opportunity to taste coffee masterworks from multiple countries of the world.

For the first time at the exhibition there will be presented «behind the glass» laboratory The Lab., where experiments with coffee will be conducted and interactive master classes with participation of professionals on a topic «from bean to cup of coffee» will be given. As a part of this platform, Timur Dudkin, leading specialist on green bean quality control of Mare Terra company (exporter of specialty coffee since 1978, expert in plantation and original coffee), will hold Alternative Cup-Tasting Championship. Also at this platform Russian Coffee Roasting Championship 2013 will be held. Partner of this platform will be IE Café, the only training center in Spain authorized by Speciality Coffee Association of Europe, which provides courses for all the elements of coffee chain.

In the course of the exhibition, there will appear unusual zone with name «Super automatic battle», where super automatic coffee machines will be presented to visitors.  Coffee brewed by using them will be proposed for tasting. Everyone will have opportunity to vote for the favorite specimen.

Every evening during the exhibition famous coffee and tea houses of Moscow will host Moscow Coffee and Tea Festival. It’s an evening program, in the course of which professional baristas and tea sommeliers will give trainings and consultations and provide great opportunity to taste their tea and coffee masterworks, as well as unique signature drinks in informal atmosphere for all comers.

One more ginger of the exhibition will become so-called wall of fame – characterful photo gallery of certain select companies of tea and coffee industry, which will demonstrate achievements of the presented companies during the years of their existence.
