On October 1-3, 2013 Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre (Moscow) will host one of the key events of the hotel industry in Russia and the CIS countries, namely, the 2nd International Exhibition «Hotel. Construction and Maintenance».

The exhibition organizers are PIR Group Company that for 16 years by now has been successfully organizing Russia’s № 1 PIR international exhibition for the restaurant market professionals and the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers (FRH)* with support from the Federal Tourism Agency (Rosturizm) and the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI).

Today Russia is enjoying a hotel boom – as we approach the winter Olympic Games 2014 and the world football championship 2018, the travel business alongside the hotel industry is developing ever more actively. In 5 years total over 360 hotels with state-of-the-art infrastructure are to be built in Moscow, Kazan, Saint-Petersburg, Sochi, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Saransk.

In this context, the upcoming exhibition «Hotel» will focus on new projects and more specifically – hotel construction and maintenance. Extensive exposition and a varied program will cover all stages of «a hotel’s life» – from project planning and designing to design details and performance of hotel services. Over 8000 hotel business professionals – ambitious-of-development investors and developers, hotel owners, top managers, hotel managers and other hotel business professionals will come together on 10 000 m². Bright ideas and ways to their implementation will be brought together and discussed here. «Hotel» will appear a wonderful venue for exploring new contacts and maintaining an effective dialogue between those interested in new projects and those willing to offer their ideas and services for project implementation.

The key event is a conference on «Tourism Infrastructure Development in Russian Regions», a topic of special interest amid preparations for international mass events. Participants in the conference will include among others representatives of 11 Russian cities where the hotel guestroom capacity is to be significantly increased, developers, managing companies and investors, Russian and foreign architect bureaus, consulting firms. They will explore ways to creating a favourable tourist image of Russia, discuss how the upcoming events might influence regional development and how to build up effective interaction between the travel business and the hotel industry at a regional level, identify prospects of public area-private sector partnership and discuss other relevant issues. 

Forum «Cost-Effective Use of Resources and Energy Efficiency» will be held for the first time as part of the exhibition. The forum will introduce innovative hotel exploitation costs-saving solutions and will be of interest to engineers, designers and architects as well as managing companies, owners, investors and developers. The forum will clearly demonstrate «an energy-efficient guestroom» with complex energy- and resource-saving solutions while companies will introduce their products and arrange consultations. Schneider Electric, ContractStroy Firm LLC and Elevel Engineer CJSC will be involved in complete equipment of a guestroom. 

Architects and designers will have an opportunity to explore the latest market trends and to maintain useful contacts for further cooperation. Thematic forum on «Engineering and Design» will be held specifically for architects and designers with participation of renowned and competent Russian and world experts. This year the exhibition is working in close cooperation with the British «Sleeper Magazin». Cleaning and housekeeping business professionals are sure to show interest in a specialized forum on «Cleanliness. Comfort. Convenience» to be organized in partnership with the «First Club of Hospitality Professionals». The forum on «Training. Personnel. Career» will enable managers and personnel department of hotels, rectors and teaching faculty of profile education institutions and representatives of recruitment agencies to obtain without fail new information and knowledge from competent experts and to share their own experience. The forum partner is Accord Hospitality LLC. Training business seminars, company presentations and spectacular professional shows will be held as part of the forum.

Professional competitions and contests will enable hotel staff and students to show their worth and to win recognition of their colleagues and experts. This year the organizers will initiate unprecedented competitions among Russian hotels for F&B Department professionals. The general topic is «Hospitality in Russian Traditions» – what a hotel can amaze foreign guests with by putting «Russian heart» into it? Competitors will demonstrate individual interpretation and vision of Russian traditions in an imaginary situation of welcoming a foreign delegation and the jury will highlight the best ideas. Interesting contests await students and maids. The «Hotel» platform will host in twice the final stage of the contest «Comfort and Convenience» by «Hotel Planet» Media House.

The exhibition business program will cover total over 70 professional events – business seminars focused on improving performance of hotel staff; individual consultations for experts on issues of doing and managing hotel business; master classes and presentations of new products and technology by supplying companies. VIP-lounge area will be organized to arrange meetings and hold talks between hotel owners and the hotel industry professionals.
